EVE Online’s Invasion storyline is drawing to a close. To celebrate the ending, CCP Games has some last surprises for the game’s players. A recent YouTube video unveiled new elements coming to EVE Online soon. In one of the most surprising twists, the developer will allow players to join the Triglavian alien antagonists.
Over the course of several years, CCP Games has been building up the threat of an advanced alien civilization. EVE Online’s upcoming update will be the third and final chapter of the Invasion expansion.
According to the new YouTube teaser, CCP Games will be unleashing EDENCOM, a new faction in EVE Online’s sprawling war. In response to escalating tensions with the Triglavians, five factions in-game have united to defend New Eden. As the war nears its conclusion, players will now be able to join EDENCOM, the Triglavian Collective, or to play independently, resisting both sides.
Both newcomers and veterans should look forward to EVE Online’s incoming update. After 17 years of intergalactic exploration, CCP Games will hopefully wrap up a long-running storyline in a satisfying manner. Although the game’s Fanfest was cancelled, the ongoing pandemic will not stop developers and fans alike from celebrating a beloved MMO.
