Error code 2123-1502 struck many Nintendo Switch users last week after firmware update 12.0.3 rolled out. The code would come up whenever a player tried to download a new game or a new game update, preventing them from expanding their library or keeping up with the latest games.
In the absence of official acknowledgment from Nintendo, Switch users banded together on Reddit to share homebrew tips for getting around error code 2123-1502, such as changing your DNS settings or quickly selecting “download settings” before the error code has a chance to and then selecting “download this software first.”
A week later and the error code is still preventing some Switch users from playing their handheld console. Eurogamer reached out to several users that spoke with Nintendo customer support, and they’ve been told that Nintendo is working on a new firmware update that will hopefully put error code 2123-1502 to rest.
In the meantime, this Reddit thread offers temporary solutions that may work for some players.
