Players trying to complete the challenges that involve collecting Floating Rings in Fortnite have been coming up short when they discover the rings aren’t there.
Every week, Epic adds brand new challenges to Fortnite. From week one, Fortnite’s challenges can be indicators of what to expect during the season ahead. The week one challenge that requires players to use a Whirlpool this season, for example. That reveals that even though the waters soaking Fortnite have begun to subside, they will remain at a level where Whirlpools are present until the end of the season, at least.
We know that because no matter which week a challenge is added, players will have until the end of that season to complete it. At least that’s how it is supposed to be. Some players have had a little trouble with that as the Floating Rings suspended above Lazy Lake have not been manifesting for certain people.
That poses a problem as one of the week three challenges this season is to collect four Floating Rings in Lazy Lake. Many players will have headed to Lazy Lake having already researched where exactly the rings will spawn, only to arrive and find they aren’t there. And no, it isn’t due to the fact that another player has beaten you to it.
Epic has acknowledged the problem and it turns out the rings are actually still there. The developer claims the rings are failing to appear for players who have a lower graphics setting in place, which results in them being rendered out. “We’re aware that Floating Rings for Floating Ring Challenges may not be visible on some platforms with lower settings. (The Rings are still present, however.),” the statement reads.
That means players who arrive at a spot expecting to see a Floating Ring only to find it isn’t there should stand in the spot where it would spawn anyway. Chances are that will result in it being collected and progress the week three challenge. As for players who don’t know exactly where the rings are supposed to be, perhaps they will happen upon them by accident.
