Animal Crossing: New Horizons has taken over the lives of many people. Especially since many of us are quarantined, the game provides some wholesome entertainment in the meantime. With Animal Crossing being the third fastest-selling Nintendo game of all time, right behind Super Smash Bros, it seems like everyone is getting in on the fun. Even stars like Elijah Wood!
The Lord of the Rings star shocked a player, Jessa, by asking to come to their island to sell turnips. Buying and selling turnips is pretty much the Animal Crossing equivalent of the real-life stock market. It’s common for people with high turnip prices to let others visit their island to sell. For a whopping 599 bells, how could Wood not try and get in on the deal? The player agreed to let him on the island and noted that he was very respectful. He even asked before picking some fruit.
“I freaked out! I couldn’t believe my eyes,” Jessa told BuzzFeed. “I thought it was such a random, sincere gesture. I couldn’t believe it until he was really on my island and still responding to me.” Jessica mentioned that she’s a fan of Wood so “it made the surprise even better.”
Jessa and her friends had a good time running around her island with Wood. Some of her buddies even chased Wood around with nets in true Animal Crossing fashion. It’s probably an experience she’ll never forget.
