In-game trash talk with strangers normally isn’t that impressive, but this elderly GTA RP’s retorts were well and truly next level.
Grand Theft Auto is one of the most successful franchises in gaming history. The most recent chapter of the game, GTA V, has sold incredibly well. Not only is it the best-selling GTA title of all time, but it is the third best selling game ever. Only Tetris and Minecraft currently have it beat when it comes to units sold.
Most people likely associate GTA with crime and violence. However, a mod added to GTA V has shed a whole new light on the game. The role-playing mod. Instead of playing as your own story mode character, players assume the identity of a random Los Santos citizen. You might be a cop, a gang member, or even a humble milkman.
You could well assume the identity of an elderly man. If that should happen to you, make sure you make it count like Eugene did. Popular GTA RP streamer Summit1g was minding his own business while talking on the phone to fellow gamer taco. That was until Eugene caught up with him and decided to give the youngster a piece of his mind for daring to venture onto his turf, reports Dexerto.
Despite Summit1g clarifying that he wasn’t tracking Eugene for a robbery he was involved in, the old geezer only decided to escalate his trash talk. After claiming he had fought in 39 world wars, Summit1g challenged him to name ten of them. In a bizarre twist, Eugene then proceeded to rattle off all of them without taking a breath. Most of them were fictional, but it was still incredibly impressive.
GTA has been accused of being the reason behind some terrible real-life atrocities over the years, but the RP element of the game is doing its level best to undo some of that stereotyping. Depending on the server you land in, some role players take the rules of the mod very seriously. Should you stray from your random character’s true identity then you could well be booted. Strict rules or not, some of the stories coming out of GTA RP have been a pleasure to watch.
