At the beginning of the year Bethesda announced the Greymoor expansion for Elder Scrolls Online, one that will explore the “Dark Heart of Skyrim.” However, the game’s director Matt Firor posted an update Wednesday telling fans that ZeniMax Online Studios will release the expansion in PTR on April 20, a week later than expected.
This delay comes as a result of the crew working from home during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Firor said, “This is the first time we’ve ever tried remote work as a studio, and so far things are going well.” The Elder Scrolls Online expansion will also launch without French voice lines because “all of France is on a work lockdown.”
Firor acknowledges that more players are active than usual because of worldwide shutdowns, which has also led to booms in games like Rocket League, and says the team will watch for any issues caused by this increased traffic.
The statement ends on the note that ZeniMax Online Studios is doing everything it can to stay on track, as there is plenty for Elder Scrolls Online fans to look forward to if worldwide circumstances allow.
Elder Scrolls Online is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
