Rocket Arena just launched last month, but EA has now given fans multiple ways to get into the game for free. The latest Rocket Arena free promotion lets players claim a free copy of the game for PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, and all they have to do is submit a code.

To claim a free version of Rocket Arena, players simply need to go to the Rocket Arena Help page on the EA site, accessible by clicking here. Then they need to click on “Codes and Promotions” and select “Promotion questions.” At that point, they can enter the code LETSROCKET with their EA account. When they’re done filling out the necessary information, EA will send players a code that’s good for a free copy of the Rocket Arena standard edition. EA is only giving away a limited number of codes, so those interested should act fast.

According to EA, this promotion is so Rocket Arena players can invite their friends to experience the Season 1 content with them, but it could be a sign that the game is struggling in the sales department. Despite not even being a month old, EA has already added Rocket Arena to the EA Access Vault, and has also made it free-to-play this weekend on Xbox and Steam.

Prior to launch, many criticized Rocket Arena for not being free-to-play, as it appears to embrace a free-to-play monetization model. For the uninitiated, Rocket Arena is a live-service game that looks to keep itself funded through the sale of Battle Passes and seasonal content. Despite this, the game has a retail price of $29.99. Other live-service multiplayer games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone have shown that the free-to-play model can ensure a thriving online community of players, so it’s unclear why Rocket Arena went in the opposite direction.

Depending on how successful Rocket Arena Season 1 is, it seems like an inevitability that the game will be going completely free-to-play sooner rather than later. However, it’s also possible that EA will stick to its guns and keep Rocket Arena as a premium game instead of free-to-play.

In the meantime, those that enjoy the game can look forward to new Rocket Arena maps, game modes, and more in the weeks ahead.

Rocket Arena is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
