From Team17 and NExT Studios comes a new fantasy role playing game, Crown Trick.
Crown Trick is a turn based adventure games that requires players to battle their way through dungeons, solve puzzles, and collect weapons within the spooky Nightmare Realm. All of the monsters in this game move in a way reactionary to the hero, their moves won’t be revealed until the hero make theirs first. Defeating enemies help players advance through the game and pick up skills that will make it easier to take on stronger enemies in deeper dungeons. The hundreds of weapons and learnable skills make for a fully customizable character that can be tailored to the players own style of fighting. Originality is the name of the game for Crown Tick as no dungeon is the same and will offer new experiences at every turn.
The trailer released for Crown Trick shows off the cute rougish animation style and the protagonist, a pink haired treasure hunting adventurer who seems to team up with a sentient crown hidden away in one of the dungeons. Skipping through maps of mazes that contain everything from waterfalls to floors made of lava and what looked to be mad scientists. Players can brew potions and call upon elemental powers to best bad guys of all sizes. Strategy is a must in this game, especially because a lot of the combat seems to be the hero against multiple baddies at once.
This game promises to be as entertaining as it is aesthetically pleasing. It covers a really wide array of genres as far as bad guys go, from classic fantasy goblins and gremlins to some kind of fire-breathing Frankenstein doll—really something for everyone in a sweet little package. There’s a lot to this game, and that means lots of engaging content and opportunities for players.
There is no set release date just yet, but Crown Trick will be released for the Nintendo Switch and for PC during Q3 2020.
