Whilst completing Lulu’s Demands on the Isle Of Awakening, you probably realized that there are lots of things that you can’t break. Despite builder literally being in the title, destroying things is equally important in Dragon Quest Builders 2. That’s where the mallet comes in.
How To Get A Mallet In Dragon Quest Builders 2
After your first night on the Isle Of Awakening, a strange figure will be waiting outside of the shack. It appears to have a mallet, which is exactly what you need. However, it quickly destroys part of the cliff wall and leaves the beach.
Pursue the figure up the mountain until you reach the Mountaintop Temple. The figure, known as the Hairy Hermit, will ask you to repair the temple to its former glory. As a reward, you will get the mallet.
How To Repair The Mountaintop Temple In Dragon Quest Builders 2
When you first receive this task, your character will create a Blueprint for the Mountaintop Temple. This will give you a rough outline to follow when you are building. The outline highlights certain tiles, which indicates where you need to place items.
The items that you need to use to repair the temple are found in two chests in front of your character. The left chest contains 25 masonry walls and the right chest has 3 braziers inside.
After picking up these items, go over to the highlighted spots on the floor of the Temple. These spots are where you need to place the masonry walls.
Place the walls down in 3x3 squares on the highlighted areas. You need to do this in each corner of the Temple. Some of the corners are partially filled in already, so you can finish those off with the masonry walls first.
When you have filled in each corner, place the braziers on top. Since there was already a brazier placed down when you arrived, you only need to use the three you found in the chest. Once all of the braziers are placed down, the Mountaintop Temple will be complete.
After rebuilding the temple, the Hairy Hermit will thank you for your service and give you the mallet as a reward. This means you can now destroy basic blocks, such as dirt and sand. You can swap between your gloves and the mallet at will, so you can always choose whether you want to move something or destroy it.
