Spoilspores are poisonous plants that plague the lands of Furrowfield, preventing the farmers from planting crops. When you first arrive, you will watch as Spoilspores destroy the last of Rosie’s crops. Thanks to your skill as a builder, you are able to rebuild Furrowfield Farm and restore some of its former glory. However, Spoilspores will soon return, so you will need to know how to destroy them.
This guide will cover everything that you need to know to destroy Spoilspores in Dragon Quest Builders 2.
How To Destroy Spoilspores In Dragon Quest Builders 2
Spoilspores are purple plants that take up one block of space. They spawn when Ill Winds, which occur when the sky turns purple, sweep across Furrowfield. This happens whilst you are rebuilding Furrowfield with the help of local villagers, threatening to ruin all of the effort that you’ve put into your first island.
Hitting these Spoilspores won’t do anything, so you can’t just go around and smash them with your hammer. However, you need to get rid of them before they explode. This could be devastating if your farm is built up, as it could destroy buildings, or even cause floods.
Rosie and Pastor Al will let you know that the best way to destroy Spoilspores is to completely cover them up with other blocks. This will stop the plants from breathing, which destroys them. However, encasing the Spoilspores doesn’t always seem to work. If you build a little room around the plants, they will continue to breathe.
To destroy Spoilspores, you need to surround them tightly with other blocks. Instead of building a room around the plants, you need to place blocks directly next to them on each side. Then, place a block directly on top of the plant. This will pack the Spoilspores in tightly, suffocating them and forcing them to explode. Using this method, you only need to use five blocks to destroy each Spoilspore. When the plants explode, you should be able to pick up the blocks again and reuse them.
You can use any blocks for this task. If you don’t want to waste wood, get some common spoiled soil from nearby and use that instead. Since the Spoilspores are completely covered up, none of your hard work should be ruined. After destroying the Spoilspores, return to Rosie and the Pastor to let them know. This will allow you to advance further in the Furrowfield Farm storyline.
