There’s been an info drought as of late when it comes to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Super DLC, officially dubbed “A New Awakening (Part I: Whis’ Training), but it’s still slated to release in Spring 2020. What few other details revealed so far include a training module with Whis, a new boss battle with Beerus like Bonyu, the appearance of Oracle Fish, and the addition of Super Saiyan God Goku and Vegeta.

That’s it in a nutshell, at least as showcased so far, but a few new details have trickled out about the DLC as well. Given that not too much is officially known about this Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC, it stands to reason some are glad to hear anything, but this latest is sure to turn heads.

This new DLC will introduce a new game mode known as “Cards Battle” where players collect new cards to be used in game. Alas, that’s all Dragon Ball Hype, a well-known and reliable reporter who regularly posts new Jump Magazine Scans, has found. What that’ll look like in game is uncertain, as it could be that these cards are essentially power-ups like eating in DBZ: Kakarot, or it could be something more revolutionary, optional, and akin to Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. The wording would actually suggest either as a legitimate possibility, though the phrase “mode” leans more toward the latter.

Either way, it would stand to reason that more information on this would be forthcoming, especially with the wide number of holes in DLC info. For example, while Oracle Fish plays some role in this DLC, it is unknown how that will happen. It could potentially be that this Card Battles mode is tied to her, but that’s up in the air for any Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot player to guess.

Notably, alongside this information is that confirmation that Beerus is incredibly powerful in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Devs fought him ten times as Super Saiyan God Goku (presumably) at level 250 and could only beat him once. In short, this may be the endgame content fans have been eager to see.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
