Part of what brings communities and fandoms together are the artists who further bring the video game in question to life for other fans to enjoy. Art comes in many forms and styles, but sometimes artistically inclined fans take things a step further.

Some of these pieces of fan art are so incredibly detailed and otherworldly-feeling that they would be, and should be, in art galleries across the world.

10 “The Right Hand”

This illustration of Cassandra by relssaH portrays the warrior in question as an ethereal woman. When players are introduced to Cassandra in Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisiton, they are shown her masculine side. Because that’s what most people think of when they think of her, people can forget the divine beauty she holds within.

The Right Hand showcases Cassandra Pentaghast’s feminine side and her faith all in one. Two sides we don’t always get to indulge in. The smooth waves that envelope her accompanied by a soft palette gives us a different view of the infamous Pentaghast.

9 “Eluvian”

By Smilika, this artistic piece encapsulates the magic and enchanting aura of Eluvian’s. In Merrill’s face you can see her hope for answers and an end to what happened to her peers in Dragon Age Origins that lead to her finding an Eluvian in the first place.

Eluvian’s are enchanted mirrors ancient Elves used to travel vast distances. Though not used anymore and long forgotten, some still lie dormant around the world. Smilika’s way of emitting glowing orbs and soft winds shows exactly how magical Eluvian’s are and leaves the viewer in awe.

8 Zevran

Zevran Arainai is a sneaky, sly devil and everyone knows it. Sandara shows Zevran in his proudest moments. Zevran is in it for the guts and glory and the fun and fantasy. He rarely gets serious. If it’s not making love inside a tent, it’s slashing people to death for money.

He’s a fighter, a cold-cut assassin who knows his way around and that’s exactly what Sandara’s fan art exhibits.

7 Merrill

Another EluvianxMerrill fan art but this time by Sandara. It’s no debate that Eluvian’s hold a world of mystery and wonder that many fans are drawn to, especially since players don’t get an entire grasp on it until Dragon Age: Inquisition.

This image showcases Merrill’s reflection which gives off a different feel. Reflection can mean a physical reflect or a mental reflect. Fans can take a look inside Merrill’s eyes and understand what she’s going through and how she may be reflecting on the past and the present.

6 Naevrah’s Grey Warden

Something that makes Dragon Age games so special is that players and create whoever they want with character customization. This allows for more immersion and connection to the story.

Players feel everything their Grey Warden or Inquisitor or Hawke feels. So it’s easy for them to demonstrate what their character is going through, through the craft of their choice. That’s exactly what is happening here for Naevrah.

5 Tarot Card

Dragon Age: Inquisition uses lots of fabulous artwork as well as tarot card work for each available companion. These tarot cards show off who that character really is in battle above all else in a majestic way.

Eleonor has made a tarot card for her own character with the ease and charisma of Dragon Age art that leaves people wanting more.

4 Inquisitive Inquisitor

This is another case of a fan showing off their own created character within the Dragon Age series.  The lighting used here gives it an untouchable appeal, like the portrait of someone important yet mysterious hanging on the walls of a grand hall.

Players are able to feel what their character feels due to great immersion and we see that within Steff’s Inquisitor’s eyes and expression.

3 A Witch Of The Wilds

Morrigan is a very enjoyable character in the video game series. Though she is a tad bit rude and mysterious, she’s keen to comedic quips and of course, being beautiful. Morrigan is part of a feared, mysterious, and powerful group of witches better known to her as, well, family.

Her lineage is strong and untrusting, her motives unclear but somehow players know she isn’t as bad as the legends say. In this fan art piece, Nikranel shows viewers her lonesomeness in the wild that doesn’t scare her because she was born there.

2 Madame De Fer

Vivienne, better known as Madame De Fer, is a majestic woman many either fear or… Let’s be honest one can only fear her. Gerry Arthur captures the beauty of Vivienne in this outstanding portrait.

Instead of playing on lore or showing a scene, Gerry Arthur focuses on personality, giving Vivienne her place to shine. Vivienne is known for being snappy and rude, but in this quick glance at her, fans are able to see more.

1 No Stone Left Unturned

Tekkoontan’s fan art shows their own Inquisitor finishing off some undead in some helpless city or town. Players encounter numerous amounts of mobs to kill that don’t get given a second thought, but this split-second showcases more than the measly farming of mobs.

This is a clear-cut pause in time, where the blood of weaker enemies still hang in the air and the Inquisitor’s blades have yet to fall to his sides. The stare into the “camera”, if you will, lets viewers of this piece know that he’s aware that his fight is not over. That a beast of a dragon is waiting.
