Josephine is the Disney princess of Dragon Age. Not because she is actually a princess, but because of her talent in diplomacy and politics. Also, let’s be honest, she is very pretty.

She is not a companion, but an advisor to the Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition. She works closely with Cullen and Leliana at the Skyhold war table room. Typically, Josephine’s methods are those of words. She prefers to not kill anyone or scare people with armies like Leliana and Cullen.

Due to being a well-written character and romance option, Josephine has a big following of fans. Some get inspired to draw her in beautiful pieces of fan art. Here are ten of them.

10 Black And White Portrait

Josephine typically wears her hair up, and many fans have varying thoughts as to how long her hair actually is when it is down. The artist for this piece, Ritri, decided to draw Josephine with her hair loose. She has also done fan art for games like Assassin’s Creed and Overwatch.

Josephine is one of the few characters we know from Rivain. Many fans believe how she dresses and wears her hair may be part of Rivain fashion.

9 Colored Portrait

The artist for this piece, Sabinalibertad, has also done a fan art portrait of Vivienne. Besides Dragon Age, they’ve also done fan art for Alien and Mass Effect.

The clothing and surroundings are not detailed, but the face is in focus and that draws the viewer in.

8 Leliana And Josephine

Josephine and Leliana are friends and have been since before Inquisition. This is because they both trained as bards. In fact, if you romantically pursue Josephine . . . Leliana will low-key threaten you due to being protective of Josephine. Due to this, there is a lot of fan art of the two of them. Some fans even ship the two together as a couple.

The artist, kalidels, described this piece as the two women having prom together at Halamshiral.

7 Gold Dress

Josephine is always depicted in gold. It is her color, and fans know it. She just looks amazing in it.

That is why, even in different clothes, artists keep Josephine in gold. This fan art made by antaarf is a great example of this. They dressed Josephine in a huge ball gown worthy of royalty but kept the colors much like what she usually wears.

6 With Quill

Josephine is a big believer in the saying “the pen is mightier than the sword.” This fan art piece by pkn2k seems to illustrate that fact.

Josephine was once much like Leliana as a bard, but changed her ways after accidentally killing someone in a fight. She believes when violence can be avoided, it should.

5 Like Althea

If you think this piece looks like it belongs in a museum, that may be because its a recreation of a famous painting called Althea by John White Alexander. The original painting depicts a pale woman in a royal blue dress.

The artist of this piece, dearasteria, decided the painting’s style and positioning could be redone as fan art for Josephine. It came out beautifully!

4 With Inquisitor

Josephine is one of the romanceable characters of Dragon Age: Inquisition. She is pretty popular among players too, as she will romance any gender of any race.

This fan art is a commission done by gasstrow and it is of Josephine with a Trevelyan Inquisitor. The design is like that of the tarot cards used in the many codex entries in the game.

3 Golden Gown

Here is yet another example of Josephine fan art that shows her in a fabulous gold gown. The golden jewels on her fingers, wrists, neck, and hair are beautiful. The style in which they are done make them look almost like stars.

The artist for this piece is Australia-based artist, ricoshrimp.

2 At Desk

Josephine looks like she is up to something in this fan art made by nivadu. She may as well be, as she often uses information as leverage to manipulate political opponents of the Inquisition. She believes in killing with kindness.

The artist puts a lot of personality into their work and has drawn other Dragon Age characters such as Cole, Solas, Merrill, and Blackwall.

1 Playing With Cat

The dress Josephine is wearing in this fan art is quite different from the ball gowns depicted in others. Much like the fan art based on Althea, this piece is also based on a famous piece of artwork.

This fan art, made by inorheona is based on the famous painting Idleness by John William Godward. The paintings are both of women in the same position and dress style using a peacock feather to play with a cat. Those wrinkles in the dress really are an artistic challenge, and this fan artist did a great job.
