The recent controversy surrounding Alinity and her cat has spread far and wide. The Twitch streamer has been dominating gaming news headlines this after she appeared to throw her cat live on stream, after it climbed onto her keyboard. Calls to ban the streamer for animal abuse have been coming in thick and fast, and there’s even a fast-growing petition about the issue. Now Dr Disrespect, who has had his own fair share of controversies, has had his say, and unsurprisingly, he’s making it all about him.

He begins by reading the question in chat, which asks if he thinks Alinity should be banned from Twitch. Starting as he means to go on, he makes several attempts to pronounce her name, getting it progressively more incorrect before eventually settling on annihilated tea.

As Doc begins to answer he makes it very clear that quite frankly he just doesn’t care, saying, “I’m not the people from Kotaku or other people that, for whatever reason, care so much about other people’s situations.”

As he continues he does acknowledge that, while the specific situation doesn’t concern him, he is still looking out for himself by saying “If there is a level of inconsistency coming from the platform and favoritism and all that stuff that affects me personally then that’s an issue but as far as I’m concerned I honestly don’t even care.”

Finally, he gets to what he feels is most important saying “I don’t even know who that is, like who is that?” Staying firmly in character, he goes on to declare himself “the face” suggesting that “you should be focused on me.”

Dr Disrespect’s real name is Guy Beahm and he is known for his larger than life, take no prisoners and make no apologies persona, Dr Disrespect. The response to Alinity’s plight is typical of the arrogant front which has made Beahm so famous on Twitch. His increasing popularity, despite having been banned more than once, also shows that sometimes controversy can make you. It remains to be seen if this turns out to be true for Alinity, somehow I doubt it.
