After his permanent Twitch ban, Dr Disrespect’s wife posted to her Instagram story to thank the fans for all their love and support.
Yes, it’s now sounding like Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban isn’t just another temporary slap on the wrist. After multiple recent controversies such as lying about VALORANT drops and touting dangerous conspiracy theories about COVID-19, Doc has been reportedly banned for good from the streaming platform that he and his 4.5 million followers have called home for seven years.
Although there’s no shortage of reasons for the ban, Twitch has yet to announce an official explanation as to why the ban is permanent. We just know that Dr Disrespect’s page on Twitch is now inaccessible and that the reason for the takedown is serious enough that nobody in the know is willing to even mention it on social media.
What we do know is that those close to the good Doctor are taking this as seriously as he is. Doc’s wife recently updated her Instagram story to thank the Champions Club for their love and support.
“The outpouring of love, support, strength, and kindness from the arena has truly been overwhelming,” wrote @MrsAssassin on Instagram. “You all have made my heart full and I can not thank you enough. No one better out there than the [Champions Club]. You guys are amazing! Much love to you all.”
Doc recently broke his silence on the subject late Saturday evening, tweeting that “Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision… Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time.”
At this point, speculation is all we can offer. Judging by the severity of the punishment and the fact that nobody is talking, Disrespect might be facing some actual legal repercussions for his on-air antics. If there was a pending lawsuit about to be announced, silence would be the order of the day from all parties involved, including the accused (ie. Dr Disrespect himself).
