It has been almost three weeks since Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, known to the gaming industry as Dr DisRespect, was banned from Twitch. Dr DisRespect had signed a multiyear partnership deal with Twitch, but this was cut short due to unreleased reasons. The gaming industry has been on the edge of its seat for weeks, waiting for any sort of news to drop. However, one person who knows the reasoning has helped narrow down why the ban happened without coming right out and saying it.

The gaming community hasn’t seen a mystery like this, and it is truly something to behold. Even gamers who have never watched Dr DisRespect stream are now invested in figuring out what exactly happened to one of the biggest names in streaming. All that fans know is that during the end of his last stream, Dr DisRespect started checking his phone and acting nervous. He ended his stream abruptly, and that was the last time anyone has seen him play.

In a Twitch interview, HasanAbi spoke with gaming insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau, who claims to know exactly why the ban happened. Slasher has said that he is waiting until a publication can back him before he reveals the exact reason, partially due to fear of a defamation lawsuit. However, Slasher helped HasanAbi narrow down the reasons. The much-discussed theory that Dr Disrespect was creating a new platform with Shroud and Ninja was debunked.

Another debunked theory is that, with all of the recent streaming controversy, maybe he was tied up in something akin to when he took time off after being unfaithful to his wife. This seems unlikely, and Slasher helped narrow down the reasoning to most likely being criminal in nature due to the absolute secrecy and privacy around it. Fans of the streamer will remember when Dr DisRespect was temporarily banned from Twitch due to streaming in a public bathroom, but the reason for a permanent ban would have to truly be awful, most likely illegal.

Two new mysteries have popped up in this discussion, both coming from the Doc himself. Someone claiming to be Dr DisRespect donated to streamer NickMercs and included a message about “Twitch needing a scapegoat.” In addition, Dr DisRespect’s Twitter page now has a link to his YouTube page, rather than his former Twitch account. This could signal that he is moving to YouTube Gaming, where fellow streamer Ninja recently ended up.

If the ban was in fact because of Twitch cracking down on policies, other streamers may be in trouble soon as well. Hopefully Doc, Slasher, or someone else tells the world soon.
