Get ready for the improbable but never impossible comeback of the two-time, back-to-back video game champion, Dr Disrespect! Following an unexplained permaban from Twitch, Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm has been in and out of the spotlight with everyone wondering what could have led to such a drastic move by the streaming platform. No one knows what happened, and anyone who claims to know is probably lying, but all that is in the past, as Dr Disrespect tweeted this simple message:
The announcement was short, sweet, and makes YouTube the home of the popular streamer. It was only a few hours ago that users began reposting an Instagram story in which Dr Disrespect released a mock news report stating, “I am now receiving word, Dr Disrespect, may return to streaming as soon as today. This is some big, big news from the two-time streamer of the year.”
Even if Dr Disrespect had not made the announcement, all eyes would have been on the YouTube channel thanks to the work of esports industry insider Rod Breslau, who has constantly reported of Beahm’s permaban since June, and the person or people behind the Twitter handle “Detective Disrespect”.
They had recently noted that a “Join” button had been added to the existing YouTube channel, which is similar to how Twitch functions with its monthly subscription plans.
Now that Dr Disrespect is back, the big question remains: will we ever find out what happened over on Twitch that lead to his ban? Given that Beahm has been completely silent on the matter, the implication is that he is fully aware of the reason for the ban but is not able to disclose the information for legal reasons.
Of course, there are several reasons that one might attribute to the ban. At E3 in 2019 he streamed live from a public restroom, he has gone after gaming journalist Jason Schreier in a way that borders on harassment, he mislabeled his streams with VALORANT and added “drops enabled” to his channel even though this was not true, and much more.
All of these might have contributed to the ban, or none of them. In the end, we might never know.
For now, Dr Disrespect is back on YouTube, and time will tell if Beahm can stay out of trouble to avoid a second ban!
