Soccer fans can now download a demo of FIFA 17 that gives players a sneak peek at The Journey, which is EA Sports’ attempt to add a story to the traditional FIFA experience.

When EA showed off FIFA 17 at E3 2016 with two new trailers, the most intriguing part of the announcement was a new gameplay mode called “The Journey.” In FIFA 17, The Journey will allow gamers to play as a single character named Alex Hunter as he attempts to become a star on one of the 20 English Premier League clubs.

Now, FIFA fans are able to get a sneak peek of what The Journey will offer via a free demo for FIFA 17 that went live this week. It should be noted, however, that the campaign is only available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners can still download a basic demo of FIFA 17 but will not have access to The Journey or the title’s advanced Frostbite engine features.

The Journey is FIFA’s first attempt at a campaign mode, and the developer seems to have gone the extra mile to make the experience feel authentic. FIFA 17’s Premier League clubs will feature their real-life managers, meaning that Alex Hunter will have the opportunity to work directly with some of the most recognizable coaches in the sport.
