Leshrac is a versatile hero in Dota 2, and you can play him in any of the five roles. He is an ideal hero for tournaments or matches in which it is necessary to confuse opponents during the draft phase. Leshrac can be picked in the first phase, and no one can predict his role until the final phase of selection.

Due to the fact that he is a fast-paced hero, his win rate as a Core in public matches is extremely high. He can easily win his lane and join the sidelines, easing the laning phase for his teammates and having a significant impact on the game’s outcome. He has also established himself in the Support role due to his high magic damage and stun ability.

Leshrac’s Gameplay

Let’s break down his gameplay into Core and support, as the gameplay of Soft Support and Hard Support, as well as Midlane and Offlane, is quite similar for Leshrac.

Gameplay In The Early Game

Early Game Core As Leshrac

As a core, you must make every effort to stay in lane, as you are an experience-based hero. You should take every creep last hit and farm small camp to quickly level up because you are stronger than your opponents as long as you have a level advantage over them.

  • You can begin the match with a point on Split Earth or Lightning Storm, both of which assist in securing range creep and harassing nearby enemy heroes.

Whichever ability you begin with, take the other one at the next level, enabling you to bully enemy heroes easily.

Due to your hero’s low base damage, you may want to practice the last hitting before picking him in Ranked matches. Additionally, ask your support to stack the camp near the lane, or stack the camp yourself if you are playing in the Midlane. Once you reach level 6, if not sooner, you should farm that camp.

You have a high kill potential if you use your abilities properly, which is why we recommend picking Leshrac if your team includes some Disabling Supports.

Tips:

  • Your lane may not always go as planned, so if you think you can’t stay in it any longer, ask for help or swap lanes with another core. You can also go jungle and temporarily give your supporters the lane. If you’re playing in the Sidelane and facing a tough matchup, ask your support to pull the creep waves to the small jungle camp. As a hero in the mid-lane, you must compete for power runes. Always use an Observer ward to monitor the river for respawned runes.

  • Avoid being aggressive in lane, particularly Offlane, as you lack the tankiness that most Offlaners possess. While using your Split Earth ability is difficult due to the long cast effect, you can use your Lightning Storm ability prior to it to slow enemies and make it easier to land your stun.

Early Game Support As Leshrac

Start the match with one point on Split Earth to contest the runes and secure the range creep last hit if your Core is unable to kill it.

  • If your Core has an instant stun or slow ability, you can use Split Earth to potentially kill the enemy hero early in the game.

If your opponent lacks disables, you can begin the laning phase with Diabolic Edict in certain matchups. Due to your early game high movement speed, you can effortlessly chase and pressure enemy heroes in the lane, particularly enemy support heroes, because they are usually hiding behind trees. You may deal all of the Diabolic damage to them because there is no creep around them.

  • Never become greedy when harassing opponents; you are not strong enough to deal with them directly. If the enemy core tries to help his ally, retreat and avoid becoming overly committed to hitting them. Stack some camps and try to pull the jungle camp to bring the wave back to your tower if your Core can stay alone for a while. Remember to compete for the power runes!

Note: If you use your Diabolic Edict or Lightning Storm on enemies close to the creep wave, it will push the lane and make it unsafe for your Core to farm.

Gameplay In The Mid Game

Mid Game Core As Leshrac

As a core, you don’t need to rotate around the map as much to create space; you can simply pressure your enemy. For instance, what happens if you play as a Midlaner and repeatedly kill your opponent’s hero? Yes, you will force enemy support to come mid to eliminate you or help their Midlaner. Because you’re 1vs2 in the lane, your Offlaner or Safelaner will have an easier time and may even pick up kills.

Try to take down the tier 1 tower in your lane after forcing your opponent to leave. Following that, you should lend a hand to your teammates when it comes to demolishing buildings. Bear in mind that the Leshrac Diabolic Edict is extremely powerful against structures, so make the most of it.

Tip: If you are unable to engage in direct combat, move to the opposing lane and push it.

Pulse Nova can be used to quickly eliminate creep waves, push the lane, and take down towers. Keep an eye out for your opponents and avoid ambushes. Additionally, pushing towers benefits your team significantly, as they gain gold and additional farmable space.

Mid Game Support As Leshrac

It is your responsibility to build jungle camp stacks for your Cores and push the Sidelanes while your Core is farming the jungle. Because of your fast movement speed, enemies may find it difficult to catch you, so be wary of enemy mobile heroes with fast movement speed or gap closing abilities. Put Deep Wards into the enemy jungle to see their movements and respond accordingly.

Lesharc’s high magical damage is also useful for ganking. Group up with one or two of your teammates and gank enemy Cores with Smoke Of Deceit. Smoke can also be used to place deep wards in the enemy jungle without being seen.

Leshrac has a very low HP pool and armor, even more so as a support, so be aware of this weakness and avoid feeding the opposing team.

Late Game Core And Support As Leshrac

You can continue the lane-pushing strategy in the late game, but you should never be late into team fights. At this point in the game, enemy cores may have purchased Black King Bar, so focus on their Supports. You’re tanky Core and survivable as a Support with the correct items such as Glimmer Cape, so avoid dying early in team fights; the longer you survive, the more damage you deal to the enemies.

As a Support, it is your responsibility to monitor your allies to determine if they require assistance. Maintain a defensive position behind your Cores and be prepared to cast Split Earth on any enemies attempting to kill your teammates.

Note: Your Diabolic Edict damage is still excellent for pushing tier 3 and 4 towers and also for killing Roshan in lane games.

Leshrac’s Itemization

Leshrac has a fast movement speed and a high magical damage output, and we should strengthen him in these areas. Due to his spells’ short cooldowns and high mana costs, he has a mana problem; thus, we need items to increase his mana regen. Due to his abilities, he must also be somewhat tanky to survive team fights, which means we’ll require items that provide armor and increase his HP pool.

Early Game Itemization

Items For Leshrac As Core

As a Midlaner or Safelaner, your starting items should be one set of Tango, two Circlet, one Mantle of intelligence, a Faire fire, and an Iron branch. These items increase Leshrac’s attack damage for securing last hits. Furthermore, they provide additional stats for trading effectively with enemies.

Purchase one Tango set, a Healing salve, two Mangoes, and two Faire fire and Iron branches as an Offlaner. Mangoes enable you to land last hits and cast your spells more frequently, allowing you to harass enemy Safelaner from a safe distance.

Following these items, you’ll need to purchase a Bottle, regardless of the role you play. Purchase two Null talismans to increase spell amplification and mana pool. Following that, purchase Boot to boost your movement speed advantage. You can buy a Magic Stick and later upgrade it to a Magic wand if necessary.

Items For Leshrac As Support

Begin the laning phase with one Tango, a Circlet, a Faire Fire, and two Iron branches. If you are playing Hard Support, you should get a Healing Salve and a Circlet. The Healing Salve is for your Hard Carry.

If you are in position 4, you should get a Ring of Protection instead. This item grants you armor to trade efficiently, and you can use it to purchase Urn of Shadows late in the game if necessary. Before purchasing Boots, buy a Magic Stick for free HP and mana, as well as survivability.

Mid Game Itemization

Boots of Travel is your primary item as a Core. It enables you to push lanes and fight more frequently, earning you more gold and experience. Additionally, you can purchase Arcane Boots to spam spells and earn more gold. You can, later in the game, disassemble Arcane Boots and convert the Energy Booster to Bloodstone.

You can upgrade your Boots to Boots of Travel once you have enough gold.

If you are an Offlaner, we recommend that you obtain Guardian Greaves rather than Boots Of Travel, as they will benefit your team and make you tankier.

  • The game determines the type of boots you wear. If you need to be more active, choose Boots Of Travel; if you need to be more tanky, buy Guardian Greaves. When it comes to matchups with many annoying disables, Black King Bar is the way to go.

Items For Leshrac As Support

If your game goes well, you can purchase Boots Of Travel. However, we recommend purchasing Arcane Boots instead, as they provide a reasonable amount of mana to you and your teammates nearby when used. Another useful item you can buy to save yourself and your allies from enemies is the Glimmer Cape.

Eul’s Scepter of Divinity is an excellent item for either disabling enemies or saving yourself from them. This item makes you invulnerable for 2.5 seconds, forcing the enemy Core to focus on another target rather than on you. Eul’s can also be cast on enemies, making Split Earth easier to cast.

Late Game Itemization

Leshrac’s favorite item is the Octarine Core, as it reduces the cooldown on his abilities and increases his mana pool. Additionally, you may wish to acquire Aghanim’s Scepter in order to gain access to the Nihilism ability. This ability increases the damage dealt by your spell to all affected creatures. Furthermore, Nihilism prevents them from attacking you.

Shiva’s Guard is an excellent item to use against heroes who deal a lot of physical damage, as it provides additional armor.

Your objective is to buy items that enable your Cores or increase your teammates’ survivability. If you wish to perform these tasks, you must purchase all of the items referred to as “Support Items.” such as the Force Staff or the Lotus Orb. If you want to make it more difficult to kill you, purchase Ghost Scepter, which protects you from physical harm. Scythe of Vyse and Aghanim’s Scepter are both excellent choices if you had a good game.

Situational Items

Phase Boot: If you’re Offlaner and require armor to sustain the physical damage, this may be a good choice.

Drum of Endurance: It is a Support Item that increases the attack and movement speed of teammates.

Veil of Discord: Increases the amount of spell damage dealt to the enemy.

Blink dagger: If you’re up against difficult-to-catch heroes or need a lot of mobility in the game, Blink Dagger is a good choice.

Lotus Orb: When used on yourself or an ally, it both dispels and reflects the enemy’s abilities.

Linken’s Sphere: Every 12 seconds, it blocks the majority of targeted spells.
