Bandai Namco has announced that the PS4 port of Doraemon Story of Seasons will be heading west on September 4, 2020. Despite releasing roughly six months ago on PC and Switch, the belated Sony version was announced as coming to Japan just yesterday. Many assumed it would be a Japan-only release, but the company was quick to clarify.

For some strange reason, our fellow gamers across the pond will be getting the game a little earlier on July 30, 2020. Still, at least the Sony faithful in both Europe and the US will be able to play this Harvest Moon-like title without having to resort to importing.

There doesn’t seem to be any kind of special edition or additional content coming with this new version. This is simply the base game on PS4 for people without a capable PC or Switch. In fact, a price wasn’t even mentioned, though the game goes for $49.99 on Steam. It stands to reason that this will be in the same bracket.

How does the game hold up? TheGamer’s own review scored it a 4/5 with Helen saying, “This title is definitely one which will likely appeal to fans of both Story of Seasons and Doraemon.” Seems like anyone with an interest in either series should have fun here.
