While Sonic fans have been anticipating news of the Blue Blur’s next ventures from Sega since the cancellation of SXSW, it appears that they’ll have to wait a bit longer.

According to the Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account, news about any Sonic-related content has been pushed back indefinitely following a previous delay into April. The April delay would have seen a smaller-sized panel themed around Sonic the Hedgehog.

The tweet can be seen below.

However, as can be seen above, those involved will announce important dates as they come up.

At this point, the delayed panel’s indefinite nature is understandable. Given the uncertainty regarding COVID-19, there’s no telling when gaming conferences and events can start back up. From E3 2020 to Gamescom, digital streaming events may be a temporary norm for the next few months.

In place of E3, for instance, multiple attendees will be holding digital conferences. This includes Microsoft, as well as Ubisoft. However, Bethesda has dropped its streaming conference altogether.

Hopefully, Sonic Team will have some good news once things are back on track. Whether it will come in the form of a new game announcement or information about a Sonic the Hedgehog movie sequel is unknown, but the wait ought to be worth it.
