If you’ve ever looked at Final Fantasy VII’s Midgar and thought to yourself, “Huh, this city kinda looks like a pizza,” then you’re not alone. Earlier today, famous pizza chain Domino’s couldn’t resist the resemblance, and tweeted out their own Midgar pizza creation to their followers.
Domino’s Pizza Malaysia tweeted out the Final Fantasy VII advertisement on their official Twitter account (@DominosMY), along with a fun fact about the Mayor of Midgar. Did you know his name is Domino?
In a reply tweet, the company reminded followers that their gaming experience in Midgar won’t be complete without some Domino’s. After all, #GamingIsPizzaPartyTime.
Fans of the game have pointed out in the replies that even Barrett refers to Midgar as a pizza during the game. Now, with Domino’s imaginative rendering, this quote gets a whole new (literal) meaning.
This same Domino’s Twitter account also tweeted out a Persona 5 Royal-inspired tweet a month ago to coincide with the release of that title. After these two tweets, it’s pretty safe to assume whoever’s running this account is an avid gamer. Wonder what big 2020 video game release they’ll tackle next?
