Fall Guys is currently available on PS4 and Steam, but can players on opposing platforms play the game together?

Suffice to say if there was a game of the month award given out by just about anybody, August 2020’s award would go to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Whether you love or hate the fresh take on the battle royale genre, there’s no denying that its first month has been a roaring success. From seven million downloads on Steam to its social media auction that has raised $1 million for charity.

As well as the seven million people playing Fall Guys on PC, there are countless more doing the exact same thing on PlayStation 4. We say countless because even though it was revealed that Fall Guys is officially the most downloaded PS Plus game of all time, Sony is yet to reveal exactly how many people have downloaded the game on its platform.

Since Fall Guys can be played on two different platforms, one of the first question its players ask, and one new players continue to ask, is does the game support cross-platform play? The short answer to that is, unfortunately, no. As it stands, PS4 players cannot play with PC players, and vice versa. However, Fall Guys devs have revealed that should demand for the feature be high enough, it will almost definitely be something that is added in the future.

“Let us know on Discord if its something you are super excited about so we can prioritize what we work on next!” were Mediatonic’s exact words. So anyone eager to invite players from a different platform to fall with them needs to let Mediatonic know about it. The more people who tell them it’s a desired feature, the quicker it will come, or at least that’s what is being implied.

Players who plan on playing on a platform that Fall Guys might come to in the future should also drop Mediatonic a line when they get the chance. Something else that will be high on Mediatonic’s Fall Guys to-do list - and if it isn’t it should be - is bringing the game to other platforms. It feels as if the game was almost made with Nintendo in mind, so we would be very surprised if it didn’t come to the Switch sooner rather than later.
