The roster of Granblue Fantasy: Versus is about to get a little bigger. Developer ArcSystemWorks has announced that Djeeta (basically the cover girl for the series) will be coming as DLC on April 7, 2020. A new trailer was released in Japan that gives us a pretty solid idea of how she’ll play.
Despite being a paid character, Djeeta looks pretty similar to Gran. That makes sense from a story perspective, but I’m not sure why many players would want to spend additional money to get an incredibly similar character. That seems like an odd choice.
Djeeta was previously announced well before the release of Versus. While the game is really good, ArcSystemWorks caught some flak for launching a game with a paltry roster and listing an additional four characters as paid DLC beforehand. Many may be turned off from the move, but it seems Granblue Fantasy: Versus has been doing well regardless.
If none of the announced characters float your boat, a second season is in the works. This will include an additional four characters with Belial being the first confirmed one. I do like that ArcSystemWorks wants to support this game for some time to come, but it definitely should have waited on pumping out DLC.
