The Division 2’s raid, Operation Dark Hours, is live and players are already burning through its challenges and earning the loot within. One such reward is the new Eagle Bearer Assault Rifle, an Exotic-rarity weapon that’s bound to be a popular choice within The Division 2’s endgame. But the Eagle Bearer isn’t going to be an easy weapon to acquire, at least not for everyone. Those hunting for the Exotic would best prepare for what’s involved.
Unfortunately, there’s no direct path to acquiring the Eagle Bearer. There’s inherent RNG built into earning the weapon, much like there is for the majority of The Division 2’s Exotic weapons. That said, the only way to get it remains to be playing through the Operation Dark Hours raid. Doing the raid every week will provide players the best chance of earning the weapon.
Boss Drops
What specifically will lead to the Eagle Bearer dropping in Operation Dark Hours is simple enough. Each boss within the raid has a chance of dropping the Exotic Assault Rifle, with four bosses total within the raid. Those bosses include Max “Boomer” Baily, the trio of Dizzy, Ricochet, and Weasel, the duo of Lucy and Buddy, and then the DDP-52 Razorback. That’s four total boss loot pools from which the Eagle Bearer can drop.
Raid Chests
Alternatively, the Eagle Bearer can also be found within Operation Dark Hours’ locked chests. To unlock these chests, players will have to acquire a key which also only drops from the four raid bosses. In other words, acquiring Eagle Bearer is just a matter of doing everything in Operation Dark Hours that players were ultimately going to do anyway.
On one hand, making the Eagle Bearer an RNG drop just like every other raid-exclusive piece of gear makes it fair game for every The Division 2 player to earn. On the other hand, for The Division 2’s first raid and first raid-exclusive Exotic, it’s disappointing to find that there’s no interesting additional gameplay associated with earning the weapon. It’s equivalent to any other raid loot. Whether or not players care will likely depend on how long it takes for the weapon to drop for them.
Good luck hunting, Agents.
