Dishonored 2 continues the story of the first game, with Corvo watching over Empress Emily Kaldwin, but Emily is deposed by the witch known as Delilah Copperspoon. You can take the role of either Corvo or Emily as they try to retake the throne.
The first Dishonored had multiple endings based on the decisions you made as Corvo, and the sequel takes it in a somewhat different direction. Instead of there being a binary ending depending on the chaos created by Corvo, there are various stages to the ending depending on several elements. In this guide, we’re going to talk about the various endings to Dishonored 2 and how to get them. Expect a lot of spoilers.
Corvo Rules Karnaca
All but one ending possibility in Dishonored 2 runs along the “chaos” axis of the game, and a few are dependent on whether you play as Corvo or Emily. “Chaos” is determined by how many people are killed by you during that playthrough, especially named characters. One of the main questions at the end of the campaign is who will rule Karnaca, the southern province ruled by the Empress of the Isles?
How To Get The Corvo Rules Karnaca Ending
Corvo’s rule of Karnaca can only be achieved if you choose to play as Corvo and make no deals with the Abbey of the Everyman, the Howlers gang, or Duke Luca Abele’s body double throughout the story campaign. You’ll also need to save Emily at the end of the story.
If you did this while killing few or even no people, Corvo’s rule over Karnaca will be peaceful and just. If you carved a bloody swath with your blade through Karnaca and killed all of the main targets, it will be a brutal tyranny.
The Abbey Of The Everyman Rules Karnaca
This ending becomes possible if Corvo or Emily makes a deal with the Abbey of the Everyman (provided Corvo and Emily also remove the Duke and his Body Double) The abby is a zealous religious order that militantly opposes any association with magic or the entity known as The Outsider.
How To Get The Abbey Of The Everyman Rules Karnaca Ending
Vice Overseer Liam Byrne will take charge in Karnaca should Corvo or Emily cooperate with the Abbey. A higher chaos rating will have the Abbey behaving as brutally as ever when ruling Karnaca. A lower chaos rating will have the Abbey working with the Sisters of the Oracular Order, a religious order of witches, and establishing a more peaceful regime.
The Howlers Rule Karnaca
The Howlers are a street gang that operates in Karnaca’s capital, Serkonos. They’re another group that either Corvo or Emily can make a deal with while traveling through Karnaka. However, this means that Corvo or Emily killed the Duke and his Body Double.
How To Get The Howlers Rule Karnaca Ending
Assuming the deal is made, The Howlers leader, Paolo, can be installed as the new leader of Karnaka at the end of the story, and his rule is determined by the chaos sewn throughout Karnaca as well. If the chaos is low, Paolo is a generous leader with his mind set on helping the poor. If the chaos is high, Paolo will only be interested in enriching himself.
The Body Double Rules Karnaca
When dealing with Duke Luca Abele, one of the main questions is what to do with his Body Double. If this Body Double is left alive, a lot of different things become possible.
How To Get The Body Double Rules Karnaca Ending
There are several possibvle endings here.
- If the Body Double makes a deal with Emily or Corvo, they convince him to be a generous and caring ruler for Karnaca. If he is left alive but not communicated with, he uses his privilege as the Duke’s Body Double to live life lavishly and selfishly. If he is left alive, and the player makes a deal with both the Body Double and either the Abbey or the Howlers, the Body Double will have a joint rule with either Byrne or Paolo respectively. As with other endings, the quality of their rule is also dependent on the chaos level.
The Council Rules Karnaca
This ending requires a lot of things. Here’s everything that has to happen in order for the council to be formed and take over.
How To Get The Council Rules Karnaca Ending
You must:
- Make a deal with the Body Double Save Hypatia while at the Oracular Order Don’t side with either the Abbey or the Howlers Incapacitate but not kill the Duke and Delilah’s co-conspirators, Kirin Jindosh and Breanna Ashworth.
This results in a council ruling Karnaca. It’s made up of the Duke’s Body Double, Hypatia, Paolo, Byrne, and Aramis Stilton (provided he wasn’t killed). In high chaos, it’s a cutthroat and tyrannical leadership. In low chaos, it’s a diplomatic and compassionate leadership out for the benefit of Karnaka.
Chaos Rules Karnaca
This ending for Karnaca is only possible with high chaos. Here’s how you do it.
How To Get The Chaos Rules Karnaca Ending
If you play as Emily, kill everyone who could lead Karnaca, this includes the Duke, his Body Double, Paolo, Liam Byrne, and then do not save Corvo at the end of the game. This results in Karnaca falling into chaos, ruin, and bloodshed.
The same is possible with Corvo, and it’s largely the same. Corvo kills anyone who could lead Karnaca and then chooses not to save Emily from Delilah at the end of the campaign.
Corvo Rules Dunwall
This is another ending that is only available with high chaos, as Corvo not saving Emily is essentially locked out at low chaos.
How To Get The Corvo Rules Dunwall Ending
Should Corvo go through the game spilling blood everywhere, then opt not to save his own daughter, Emily, and kill Delilah, he will be the new tyrannical emperor of Dunwall. He will be known as Corvo the Black and will seek vengeance against anyone left that was still connected to Delilah’s coup attempt.
Emily Rules Dunwall
Emily ruling Dunwall will be the ending on most possible playthroughs, but things change based on chaos and whether Corvo is present. Corvo could not be present because either Emily chose not to save him (high chaos option) or because he is ruling Karnaka.
How To Get The Rules Dunwall Ending
Emily herself can be either a just ruler at low chaos and enact a new golden age for the empire, or she could be a vengeful or brutal ruler spilling blood all over the empire.
As a final aside, she is known as Emily the Just and Emily the Clever if she is a good ruler, and she will either be known as Emily the Butcher if she chose not to save Corvo on high chaos or Emily the Vengeful if she did save Corvo on high chaos.
Meagan Foster Or Billie Lurk
Meagan Foster is a former assassin who worked with Daud when he killed the former Empress. Despite that, she and Anton Sokolov help Corvo or Emily on their quest to undo Delilah’s coup in Dunwall.
How To Get Meagan Foster To Become Billie Lurk
Meagan Foster’s ending only changes if you kill her, otherwise, her ending is static no matter what Corvo or Emily do.
She leaves Dunwall, returns to her Bille Lurk name, and seeks out Daud. This leads to the Dishonored 2 expansion: Death of the Outsider. Billie and Daud choose to try and kill the Outsider, and this has its own set of different endings.
Anton Sokolov
Like Meagan Foster, Anton Sokolov the inventor helps Corvo and Emily, and he can be killed on the last mission of the game. However, his ending will shift a bit, depending on how high or low the chaos is at the end of the game.
How To Change Anton Sokolov’s Ending
The chaos essentially determines Anton’s mood at the end of the game. He leaves Dunwall on a ship headed north either way. If the chaos is low, the old man returns home one last time with fulfillment in his heart. If the chaos is high, he feels deep despair and essentially heads home to die.
