DisguisedToast used to be a superstar on Twitch. Last November, he migrated to Facebook Gaming, dropping from the platform that helped launch his career. Since the switch, he has cited contentment in his decision despite mixed reactions from fans and colleagues.

His Twitch channel lost its partnership status and verification check-mark, turning back into a regular ol’ account. Well, a regular account with 1.3 million followers, that is. It remained completely unused until an out-of-the-blue Twitter post confirmed that he was going live on Twitch yet again.

Many fans lost their marbles, theorizing that DisguisedToast was coming back to Twitch for good. He booted up his stream and let excited viewers trickle in while showing a countdown timer.

The countdown timer started at about 24 minutes, and when it finally ticked down to its last few seconds – this happened.

Around 18,000 viewers were losing their minds when the expatriate streamer decided to play the “jebaited” anthem, leading the chat to believe they’d been duped. However, DisguisedToast revealed himself instantly after the song ended, creating a fake jebait. For those unfamiliar with the term, jebaiting is just internet slang for tricking… think of it like getting rick-rolled. But what was DisguisedToast doing back on Twitch? A big announcement? A confession?

No real reason, it turns out. He just felt like coming back to say hello to his old fanbase. He clarified that what he was doing was completely fine and that he had permission from Facebook Gaming. Twitch seemed to be on high-alert, on the other hand; At least 12 staffers showed up in his stream by the time he began talking to his audience. Toast also made it quite clear that he was there to flex his relevancy, garnering over 23,000 concurrent viewers during the short stream.

Aside from deflecting donations, he didn’t come across as very humble, bragging about his big brain and stats (as he often does.) All-in-all, the main reason he returned was to promote his new edating experiment. Toast lined up a date for the evening, small streamer SmexyRosies, and talked to her for the last hour. The streamer then decided to continue the date by playing VALORANT with SmexyRosies, telling everyone to head over to Facebook Gaming to see the rest.

That sly dog.
