A new Dirt 5 trailer revs engines amid the Gamescom preshow, showing off a heavily detailed map creator, in addition to several other exciting game modes.
Capturing the attention of the masses is the enemy vehicle teased at the end of the trailer, wherein a sleek compact racer bathes in a pink glow, introduced simply with the tagline of “Vampire.”
The new Dirt 5 Gamescom trailer kicked off with a showcase of new features, among them being a map designer that allows users to customize their Playground in a variety of ways, blending motorsport concepts with stunt show cosmetics. These playgrounds can then be shared with the community, similar to Far Cry Arcade and Super Mario maker. The best part is Playgrounds will be available on all versions of Dirt 5, allowing users from one console to switch over to another and still be able to play their favorite published arenas. Dirt 5 will also feature new racing and challenge modes, such as Gate Crasher, Smash Attack, and Gymkhana.
The most striking bit from the reveal was the Vampire vehicle displayed at the culmination of the trailer, for which Nibellion calls “the gamer car’s enemy.” As an antagonist vehicle, the Vampire racer already looks like the perfect blend of fierceness and fast driving, but only if deliverable on the asphalt. Ending with all but a “to be continued,” the Gamescom Dirt 5 trailer gives us only a tiny glimpse into what fans can expect with the new experience.
Although shifting gears on its release date, Dirt 5 still draws a spectacle, especially with a newfound arena creator and a dedicated community of Playground enthusiasts. The action and challenges created by fans will most likely be the best part of the forthcoming release.
On the other hand, a menacing foe coupled with a tantalizing soundtrack will make for one interesting and extremely anticipated rally car racing sim, available this coming October 16 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s also coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X, whenever those platforms release. How about a price soon, eh?
