Bandai Namco Entertainment is looking to bring Digimon back to the world of tabletop card games, launching the Digimon Card Game in English territories on January 29, 2021. The new Digimon Card game is making a big effort to compete with the other popular trading card games on the market, with new rules, new cards to collect, and plenty more for fans of the franchise to look forward to.
The Digimon Card Game is starting off with three starter decks on January 29, 2021. The Digimon Card Game Starter Decks are all themed after characters from the first Digimon anime series, as well as a color associated with their partner Digimon. There is the Cocytus Blue Starter Deck based on Matt and MetalGarurumon, the Gaia Red Starter Deck based on Tai and WarGreymon, and finally, the Heaven’s Yellow Starter Deck based on TK and Angemon.
Each Digimon Card Game Starter Deck comes with 54 cards, two memory gauges, and one booster pack. Digimon Card Game fans will have the opportunity to purchase other booster packs beginning January 29 as well. Players can use the booster packs to further customize their Digimon Card Game Starter Decks. Another booster pack will be released on February 26, 2021, and will add a slew of additional cards for fans of the franchise to collect.
For those wondering what to expect from each of the Digimon Card Game Starter Decks, here are all the cards that come in each one. Note that there will be duplicates of some of the cards listed in order for each deck to hit 54 cards.
